Title: DVTI: Camera control software 5.6.0 released
Threaded Mode

Hi all,

the version 5.4.0 of the control software is available for download from the support web page:
https://dvticam.com/support

The main new feature of this version is the integration with SODIS. You can now create a pre-filled SODIS report from the occultation event dialog. Download the report_template_sodis.txt from the support page, rename it to report_template.txt and place it in the program directory of the camera control tool (normally c:\program files (x86)\DvtiCamControl). You can also generate the traditional report form - in this case, download the file report_template_euraster.txt from the support page, rename it to report_template.txt and place it in the program directory.

Some other changes and fixes in this version (for a complete list, please see the releasenotes.txt file):
- The tool now ignores the configured dark offset if dark subtraction is disabled.
- The preview mode "no preview" has been removed. This caused some people to think that the camera is not working.
- Sometimes the streaming could stop after a few hours. This has been fixed.
- The program had a memory leak when recording FITS series that led to a crash after a short time. This has been fixed.

Greetings and clear skies!
Andreas

"Hi all,

the new version 5.6.0-14 of the DVTI camera control software is available for download on https://dvticam.com/support

This version contains a number of bug fixes and improvements for issues reported by various users:

- Various fields in the SODIS report template have been corrected:

  - You can now enter the country code in the site dialog and it will be copied into the report template in variable {{SITE_COUNTRY_CODE}}
  - The instruments dialog now contains a dropdown list of telescope types supported by the SODIS system. Please update the value for all your telescopes. The value will be populated into the template via the {{TELESCOPE_TYPE_SHORT}} report variable.
  - The format of the exposure time has been corrected from milliseconds to seconds, as expected by SODIS, in variable {{CAMERA_EXPOSURE_TIME_SEC}}.
  - The format of the site longitude has been fixed from 2 digits to 3 digits in the first number, in variable {{SITE_LONGITUDE_SODIS}}.
  - The comment field is now empty per default, as requested by the SODIS team. This field is reserved for important comments only.
  - Various fields that had been available in the Euraster template have been appended at the end of the report. They will be ignored when uploading the report to SODIS but may be useful for documentation.
  - You can now enter R and D data in the event dialog which is then automatically filled in the report. From the data entered, the tool will automatically set the observation to NEGATIVE or POSITIVE and will calculate the difference between D and R to populate the duration field.

You need to download the new SODIS report template and save it as report_template.txt in the DVTI program directory. Also, don't forget to set the country code in the site dialog and select the telescope type in the instrument dialog.

- It is now possible to modify the toolbar, i.e. add and remove buttons. The modifications will be saved when you leave the program and re-applied as you start again.

- As an alternative to dragging the sliders in the histogram with the mouse, you can now click (left limit) or shift-click (right limit) into the histogram window to move the limits.

- To indicate that a pixel is "overflowing", the program will now apply yellow and red colors to the pixels. Pixels saturated to 90% or more appear in yellow, pixels saturated to 98% or more in red. If the target or desired reference stars overflow, you should reduce the gain or exposure time so that the analysis software can correctly calculate the magnitude drop.

- A bug with the frame buffer queue has been fixed which could cause unnecessary missed frames.

- A bug has been fixed where changing the camera resolution didn't have an effect on the pixel scale in the plate solving dialog.

- Custom report templates may now have maximum 512 instead of 128 lines, and the program no longer crashes if the maximum is exceeded.

- A bug is fixed where the program would "forget" the astrometry.net API key.

If you notice bugs while using the program or have ideas how to support further the observation of occultations in the software, please let us know!

Greetings and clear skies,
Andreas"
